Bayside was the brain child of Stewart & Tracey Aitchison and, alongside Alan Webster and after 6 months of planning, we had our first training session in Dalgety Bay School hall on 03/03/03. 13 members belonging to the 1993 age group came along that night but the club was expanding quickly. As more and more children joined, we expanded the age range and created teams at both the 94 and 92 age group.
Those events the ball in motion and over the past 10 years, we have rapidly grown and now have 30 teams ranging from Amateurs to "the Minikickers"- our youngest age group. We also have a girls branch of the club, which currently has 4 teams. These teams are run by over 80 dedicated club officials developing the talents of nearly 500 players.
The emphasis at the club is firmly on development and fun, and we welcome along all children regardless of ability and still do. Our club motto is "FUN, FRIENDSHIP & FOOTBALL"- each aspect as important as the others. Although at the older age groups the competitive nature of the leagues inevitably leads to a more results based mindset, we hope that these founding values still have an important role throughout the entire club.
The Team colours were originally Royal Blue & Orange however, as these were very popular colour choices, we recently converted to a Sky Blue used by the entire club. Our away kit is Orange and the training kit is Dark Blue.
We also have a very active social element to the club and try to organise events throughout the year which suit the whole family. These include our annual trip to Ayr, a huge summer BBQ/Fun-day at Fordell Firs, Race nights, Quiz Nights, Team bonding days at Fordell firs and, of course, our Player of the Year awards. This element of the club is extremely important to us as it develops a sense of community and camaraderie, establishing links between different age groups and bonding the club as a whole.
